Went to the cinema to watch Saw V last week. What a waste of nearly £9 (seriously, when did it get so extortionate for a ticket and a small diet coke?).
I spent the majority of the film wincing and looking away, intensely studying the edge of the screen, and the seats in front of me. I've not seen the previous 4 films in the series, which may be why I didn't really get it. I do have the first two saved on the sky plus box but I'm not sure if I want to watch them now. Not on my own, and not in the dark anyway! Not unless there's a hot guy who would like to hold my hand. (Any takers?)
The film was gruesome and gory. You know when you're watching something and your screaming out (in your head, for the most part) that going in that deserted building, where people keep turning up dead, is not the brightest idea the main character has ever had. The ending was pretty cack too.
However, it did do the job of making me leave the cinema suitably shaken, convinced I was going to get abducted by some scary looking little puppets.
I got to my car and locked the doors (well, you never know!) and managed to set off my car alarm when I tried to start the engine. Drawing attention to myself, alarm beeping, lights flashing, in the middle of a pitch black semi deserted car park.
After all that, I’ll probably end up watching the other films. I know I’ll have nightmares and scare myself silly, but I won’t be able to help myself.
