Just been to the pool and bumped into my Greek friend. Well, I say friend, he's spoken to me a few times in the jacuzzi. I've noticed that the jacuzzi seems to be some sort of social gathering point. People sit there chatting away, whether they know each other or not. It can be quite nice sometimes, but not when you just want to chill out and not speak to anyone. Then, sometimes it gets a bit awkward. Like when you get in and you’re not sure if you should speak or not and there’s that awkward moment where you may eye contact and then look away.
Anyway, back to the Greek ... we were chatting and he invited me to a party tonight. He gave me his number which I didn’t think I'd remember (obviously not having our phones handy by the pool) so we arranged to meet outside so we could swap numbers.
So I went and got dressed, then went through to the reception area but he wasn't there yet. They were closing and I didn't want to hang around, especially in case he'd already gone then I'd have been stood up. Or if he hadn't gone and then when he came out the staff waiting for the place to clear so they could go home would be watching us swap numbers so I just left. Despite my terrible memory I did remember his number (it was rather easy) so I just text and said I thought he'd gone but I'd got his number anyway. I hope he wasn't waiting around like an idiot for me though. He text back and said he'd like me to go to this party - it's a house party for his new housemate’s birthday. I'm not convinced. I said I'd maybe go later so I'll keep you posted.
